Team Vegan is a group of endurance athletes dedicated to promoting healthy, ethically and environmentally conscience lifestyles. Our team seeks to promote wellness through conservation efforts, healthy diets and exercise.

The team comes from a varied athletic background ranging from track and field, baseball, sailing and dance. After a long hiatus from competitive sports, this group of friends found a new motivation to unite as a team. In 2003 our friend and teammate Michelle Bent finally won a long battle against a malignant cancer known as Ewing’s sarcoma. Following Michelle’s heroic recovery, we enthusiastically committed ourselves to becoming a top level competitor in the sport of adventure racing. The team intends to join the ranks of internationally competitive teams through maintenance of a rigorous training regimen and race schedule. Team Vegan will dispel the myth that vegans/vegetarians are weak and sickly individuals, while living a cruelty free, ecologically sound existence.
